Premiere! «Peer Gynt», documentary produced by Fjords for NRK.
A disloyal adventurer, full of imagination but with little stamina. Always having a door open or a bridge out of the situation, Peer Gynt never commits himself 100% to anything. No ties or loyalty for him. Henrik Ibsen’s world famous play Peer Gynt is celebrating its 150th anniversary and in this documentary we follow the process from rehearsals to the debut performance under the inspired direction of award winner Sigrid Strøm Reibo. We take a journey with the actors and the team behind the critically acclaimed theatre production at Gålå in Gudbrandsdalen, Norway with father and son actors Nils Ole and Jakob Oftebro as Peer Gynt in his youth and declining years.
Fjords format in Broadcast: Norwegian indie seeks UK co-pro partner
Hunts production partner for Our Winter’s Tale. Norwegian indie Fjords wants to use the Scandinavian lifestyle concept of ‘hygge’ to create a factual entertainment format for a British broadcaster. It is hunting a production partner for Our Winter’s Tale – a factual entertainment series that will send British families to Norway, and challenge them to survive its wilderness and Scandinavian way of life. The proposed format is part of a wider push by Norwegian producers to build on the international success of programmes such as NRK’s multiplatform drama Skam (Shame), which is being remade in the US by Simon Fuller, and studio-based reality format Doctor vs Internet.Fjords co-founder and executive producer Elisabeth Nord said: “There is a fresher and lighter side to Nordic TV that is emerging.“Scandinavian culture now brings some new values, and combining them with UK production values is something we’re aspiring to do.”
